EventsLocal Futures Book Launch: "Local Government, Strategy and Communities"Local Futures have recently published their first monograph entitled Local Government, Strategy and Communities. This book contains the initial findings of the Local Futures Research Project and reports on how councils have been adapting to the new strategic planning requirements of the Local Government Act 2002. The core of the book is an account of how the subset of the 19 councils studied by the Project have responded to the challenge of developing LTCCPs. Institute of Policy Studies Local Futures Seminar Friday 18 November 2005.Presentations were made by the FRST research team, by research associates, local government chief executives and other experienced practitioners. Commentary from an international perspective was provided by Professors John Benington and Jean Harley from the Warwick Business School and by Kate Delaney, strategist and futurist from Canberra.
